　　我們從自己的父母親和祖父母那兒繼承了這個世界。如果不是過去幾代人，包括我們當中的老年人的辛勤工作，我們今天所享有的現代社會是完全不可能存在的。老年人努力工作，供養家人、社會以及年輕的后代。他們中有些人曾為我們今天慶祝的自由而戰;有些人曾為給后代創造更好的生活和工作環境而奮斗。作為享受他們勞動成果的后來人，我們理所當然應該尊重他們。
