My university life is better than expected,It is universally acknowledged that when a freshman walk into a big,fascinating but complicated campus,what impresses him most will be the atmosphere of freedom and the “abuse”,which will teach you a lesson before you really adapt to the life of university.
After years of frustration with heavy homework and education which mostly gives us skill of exam more than knowledge itself,I sat down and imagined how my college life would be this summer vacation.In my opinion,compared with universities in HK,universities here is less active,full of awkward political education,and provide too much leisure time in which laziness is born.In a word, it will be boring, if it fits my idea.
However,life tends to be more and more different from expected,as I feel myself absorbed into the campus little by little.Every day when I pass by the door of dormitory I notice tens of posts that contains information of activities of miscellaneous groups or interesting lectures which widen our horizon,just like the lively and colorful world below the calm surface of the Pacific Ocean.
When it comes to my major,mathematics,I am very willing to devote much time to having lessons,doing proper homework,going to libraries to check more details other than textbooks or debating problems through MSN with other friends who share the same interest.

From the cartoon given above, we can observe that there are two people watching Peking Opera. With the actress performing vividly on the stage, the old man is watching attentively. However, the little boy sitting beside does not even cast a glance at the actress and falls sleepy. It is obvious that he shows no interest in Peking Opera.
The cartoon reflects an interesting and usual respect of daily life. However, from a deeper perspectives, it also reveals the gradual loss of traditional culture in modern society. What exactly contribute to this phenomenon ? Possible reasons could be listed as follows: for one thing, quite a few people, especially youngsters, hold that Chinese traditional culture is out-dated and of little use in modern society. Perhaps, from their perspective, traditional culture form the distant past can hardly adapt to or keep pace with the ever-changing new world. Moreover, exotic cultures, to some extent, have also posed a great challenge to the traditional culture of China. As we can see, a large body of people have been attracted by foreign cultures which feature diversity, novelty and richness Crazy fans of foreign TV programs, electronic products or even ways of life abound in our daily life.
However, no one can deny the significance of Chinese traditional culture. It is the crystallization of Chinese wisdom and civilization. An individual or nation showing no respect to the essence of traditional culture cannot be expected to develop and be stronger. Hence, something could and should be done to reverse the inexorable decline in the emphasis of Chinese traditional culture.

Nowadays we can see advertisements on television every day. Some people believe that advertising on television can bring us benefits, but others don't think so. In my opinion. I’m in favor of the advertising on television.

There are three reasons, I think, for the growing number of advertisement on TV. First a competitive economy, the consumer usually has the choice of several different brands of the same product. Thus, manufacturers are confronted with a problem-How to keep sales high enough to stay in business. They solve this problem by advertising. Through advertising, each manufacturing company tries to convince that its product is best. That is to say the company can realize the accumulation of prospective clients.
因?yàn)殡娫拸V告的增加數(shù)量我覺得有三個(gè)理由。首先，競(jìng)爭(zhēng)經(jīng)濟(jì)，消費(fèi)者通常對(duì)同一產(chǎn)品有不同品牌的選擇。所以，廠商面臨一個(gè)問題——如何保持足夠的消量來維持營(yíng)業(yè)。他們通過廣告來解決這個(gè)問題。通過廣告，各個(gè)廠商都試圖說服消費(fèi)者他們的產(chǎn)品是最好的。也就是說公司可以做到積累潛在客戶。
Second, most consumers are interested in advertisement. They wish to get from advertisement the first-hand information about new products, which enables them to choose the one they like best. As a result, there is a sharp increase in advertisement on the TV screen.
第二，大部分消費(fèi)者對(duì)廣告感興趣。他們希望從廣告手里拿到新產(chǎn)品的第一手資料，這樣能夠讓他們選擇他們最喜歡的。所以廣告在電視屏幕上急劇增加。
Last but not least, the advertising on television has become important pastime for people, to some degree. With the use of popular music, and many technologies, and many super stars’ participant, advertisement is no longer boring. So many people, especially the young, enjoy watching advertisement.
最后但并非最不重要的，在某種程度上電視上的`廣告已成為人們重要的消遣活動(dòng)。隨著流行音樂和許多技術(shù)的使用以及許多超級(jí)明星的參與，廣告不再是枯燥乏味的。很多人，尤其是年輕人，喜歡看廣告。
In conclusion, TV advertising plays a very important role in economic behavior. With abundant information available on TV, we can make sensible choices as consumers. And, we are more and more attracted by advertisement.
總之，電視廣告在經(jīng)濟(jì)行為中扮演了一個(gè)非常重要的角色。大量的信息出現(xiàn)在電視，作為消費(fèi)者我們可以作出明智的選擇。我們也越來越被廣告吸引住。
