　　being late again

　　“my god! i＇ll be late again!”i said to myself on my way to school.“how can i eplain to my teacher? i must find a reasonable ecuse.”

　　my clock doesn＇t work properly? no, no. that＇s a common ecuse for being late. many classmates have already used it. it＇s clear that the teacher won＇t believe it.

　　there is something wrong with my bike? no, no. if the bike is seen by the teacher after school, what can i say?

　　i fell off the bike and hurt my ankle? then i must pretend to walk slowly and with difficulty. no! i nearly forget it. once iao ming, a good friend of mine, did just that, and the teacher saw through her trick very easily.

　　i was at my wits＇ end①. i would have to face the teacher＇s reproach②.i could have got to school in time if i had got up a little earlier.

　　at last i found myself at the door of the classroom. i knew i could do nothing but admit my mistake. i pushed the door open and went in. lowering③ my head, i waited for the reproach. a minute passed but nothing happened. i heard only the sounds of reading. i looked up. why, the teacher hadn＇t come at all.

　　I was always a little in awe of Great-aunt Stephina Roos. Indeed, as children we were all frankly terrified of her. The fact that she did not live with the family, preferring her tiny cottage and solitude to the comfortable but rather noisy household where we were brought up-added to the respectful fear in which she was held.

There we would wait, in trembling but not altogether unpleasant.

　　She was a tiny little woman to inspire so much veneration. She was always dressed in black, and her dark clothes melted into the shadows of the voor-kamer and made her look smaller than ever. But you felt. The moment she entered. That something vital and strong and somehow indestructible had come in with her, although she moved slowly, and her voice was sweet and soft.

　　She never embraced us. She would greet us and take out hot little hands in her own beautiful cool one, with blue veins standing out on the back of it, as though the white skin were almost too delicate to contain them.

　　Last week, our school arranged a camping for us, so I went to camping for a two days. On the first day, I had a good time with my classmates, we played some games, we shared our funny life experience. When my friend talked about her mom, suddenly, I thought of my mother’s birthday, today was her birthday, I almost forgot about it, I wanted to send her my best wishes, but it was nearly 10 pm, it seemed too late. My friend suggested me to call my mom, she said though it was late, it was better than not to do. So I called my mom, I sent my wishes, she was so happy. I made the right decision.

　　上周，學(xué)校給我們安排了一次露營，因此我去露營兩天。在第一天，我和同學(xué)們過得很開心，我們玩了很多游戲，并且分享我們有趣的生活經(jīng)歷。當(dāng)我朋友談到她母親的時候，突然，我想到了媽媽的生日，今天是她的生日，我差點就忘記了，我想要給她送上我最好的祝福，但是時間已經(jīng)接近晚上十點，已經(jīng)很晚了。我的朋友建議我給媽媽打個電話，她說雖然遲，但是比不做好。因此我打電話給媽媽，她很開心。我做了正確的決定。

　　It has been admitted that girls are allowed to be late for a few minutes when they having a date with boys, which is a way to show respect. But if boys are late for the date, they are treated to be rude. This is the rules for being late. Girls always have the privilege of being late. But at the meeting, both boys and girls are not allowed to be late, or they will be disliked by employers and lose the opportunity to get promoted. Obviously, lateness is not welcomed in the date between friends, because they are in the equal situation and no one have the privilege. Arriving on time is the basic rule to show respect. While some girls keep the bad behavior of being late all the time, which makes them infamous.

　　大家都默認(rèn)女生跟男生約會時可以遲到幾分鐘，這是對女生表示尊重的一種方式，而如果男生約會遲到了，則會被認(rèn)為是不禮貌的。這是遲到的準(zhǔn)則，女生總是有遲到的特權(quán)。但在會議上，男生和女生都是不允許遲到的，否則老板會不待見他們，失去晉升的機會。顯然，朋友之間的約會也不適合遲到，因為他們是在平等的，沒有人有特權(quán)。準(zhǔn)時是尊重的基本規(guī)則。然而有些女孩養(yǎng)成了總是遲到的不良習(xí)慣，這就會使得她們聲名狼藉。
