Recently, Beijing Education Department has announced that the full mark of English in the college entrance examination in20xx will be 100 points, which has dropped 50 points from previous years. While the Chinese will be 180 points, the mathematics remains the same, still 150points. After the news has been exploded, this policy has caused great attention among the public. Some people even wonder: do we still need English as before? And the status of English still remains the same in China? Well, asfar as I am concern, English still an indispensable part of our daily lives.
最近，北京市教育局宣布20xx年的高考英語總分將為100分，較之前的150分下降了50分。而語文將提高到180分，數(shù)學(xué)保持不變。此消息一出，就引起了社會(huì)的極大關(guān)注。有人甚至問到：我們還像過去那樣需要英語嗎？英語在中國(guó)的地位是否保持不變？在我看來，英語始終在我們的生活中是不可缺的一部分。
Firstly, English language is of crucial important in international cooperation and exchange. In this competitive world,no country can survive without any other contact with other countries. And through out all the interactions, English, as a global language, is the bridgefor us to communicate with other people who from different culture, different countries. Two thirds of the world trade is conducted in English. In order to perform our duties and enjoy our rights as a significant member of WTO, we doneed English by all means.
英語在國(guó)際合作與交流中有著重要作用。在這個(gè)充滿競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的世界里，每個(gè)國(guó)家都要與其他國(guó)家進(jìn)行交流溝通，免得就不能生存。而英語，作為全球通用的語言，起到了橋梁的`作用，幫助不同文化背景的人們順利溝通。世界上三分之二的貿(mào)易用英語完成。為了更好的享受和履行我們?cè)趪?guó)際貿(mào)易組織的權(quán)利和義務(wù)，我們無論如何都需要英語。
Secondly, English is compulsory inelementary, secondary and further education. One has to pass the English tests to get his certifications. Although we don’t need English so much in our daily lives, when we turn on the computer, listen to the radio, we may find English is everywhere. So, it’s quite necessary for all of us to master a foreign language. Even in the developed countries, students are required tolearn at least one foreign language. And learning English makes contributions to one’s development to some extent.

Although the English marks of college entrance examination will drop to 100, we still need English in our daily lives. With the rapid development of economic and cultural globalization,learning English is still the tendency for the young generations. Nowadays we see supermodels on almost every magazine cover and one might wonder what life will be like being one of them. Such assumption may be painful for most of the magazine readers who are already over the age when they can get taller. In response to the ”Getting taller trend”, some goes so far as to pay doctors to cut their legs open and let surgeries do the job to get just two centimeters’ higher.
In spite of all these that are happening, some of my taller friends desire to give up this superiority for they just don’t want to be the center of the crowd, saying that they would kill to be a 4 feet child. Girls, maybe you can’t remember the time when you were younger and you need to jump really hard to catch a glimpse of up-the-table world? But being taller, even the upper world of the refrigerator top is no longer a myth and your mom and dad can’t hide your snacks up there any more! As time goes on, you can easily see on the table the beautiful lavenders or lilies stretching themselves in their own fragrant smell, the shining toaster popping out warm tasty toast, or the little drops of water glittering under bright sunshine after your mom wipes the table. Don’t you just love to see every phase of the moon even when they are not that high up in the sky?
Well, I do. Being a 5 ft 10 myself, I am also taking the advantage of buying a larger outfit at a same price. Also, I get a cleaner view of the blackboard even when sitting far away from it. I run faster, jump higher and can think positively. I am proud to say that I possess the ability to see the upside of almost everything. I guess it is because I am closer to the clear blue sky above our heads.
