Today， the hair of Chinese is no longer black only. Red， blue， yellow， orange， green， pink and even multicolored hair can be seen in streets and on campuses.
People who are for dyeing it suggest that it is a strong trend of the world. About 70 per cent of the youth in Japan and South Korea dyetheir hair. Half of all American women color their hair and men are joining in record numbers. Furthermore， those who dye their hair be lieve that it is a good way to show their personality.
However， a lot of people especially many parents are against it. It is said in a newspaper that a granny was frightened almost to death by the bizarre color of her grandson's hair. An angry father asked the hairdresser to return his daughter's hair to natural black and shouted that only bad gays dyed their hair.
To dye it or not to dye it? It is a personal choice. Anyhow， no matter what color you choose for your hair， beauty should be the criteri on. Think twice before you make the decision. Will you bring pleasure to other's eyes or at least improve your image by coloring your hair?

My Dog
Dogs belong to the canine.
When a dog follows its nose, it's actually being led by thee key senses. Sight:a glimpse of the enemy saves them barking up the wrong tree. Sound: a bark can be a fierce threat, but it's also how canines make their long distance calls. Smell: this tells a dog more than all the other senses put together.
Inside its nose are around two hundred million smell sensitive cells, forty times more than in humans. Through them the dog's brain can pick up signals from one molecule of scent in a million. It gives the dog: a completely different picture of the world, based on what it smells, rather than what it sees.
Flowers are irrelevant to a dog. So their scent is meaningless. But food is a serious matter. What to us is an empty plate, is covered with the smell of chicken to a hungry dog.

I’m a dog lover, because dogs are tame, friendly and easy to communicate with. I have kept one in my house, whose name is Chocolate. She is covered with brown curly hair and looks like a Teddy Bear. Grades are really something important for most students. Schools and society as a whole often value a student just by his or her performance in the subjects on an examination. Students with higher grades are considered as winners. On the other hand, those with lower grades are, unfortunately, looked upon as losers.
Forced by this expectation, students try hard as they may to get higher grades. Some students do not study hard in their daily lives, instead, they try to recite some important facts or rules just before the examinations. Some students do not even do this, they just cheat on the examinations in order to get high grades.
I believe that a grading system is good and necessary for a school, but it should not be the only measure of a person＇s ability. Schools should set up more elective courses, for instance, to train the students to solve practical problems. Or they can give more
consideration to some changes in the examinations that can arouse the leaning interest instead of just giving grades.

“報紙！”媽媽不耐煩地又報了一遍。
“是不是newspaper?”我問道。
“是啊是啊！”媽媽回答道。

It is disingenuous to assume that economy, society and culture operate in separate spheres. This suggests that, one, exposed to the globalizing imperative, no aspect of social life, customary practice, traditionalbehaviour will remain the same.
There have been, broadly, two principal responses in the world, which we may call the fatalistic and the resistant. It is significant that among the most fatalistic have been the leaders of G-7, Ex-President Clinton said globalization is a fact not a policy choice Tony Blair said it is inevitable and irreversible. It may be considered paradoxical that the leaders of the most dynamic and expanding economies in the world offer such a passive, unchallenging view of what are, after all, human-made arrangements. These are among the richest and most proactive regimes, which can wage endless war on the great abstraction, that is terror, topple regimes and lay down one WTO law for the poor and another for themselves. Is their helplessness in the presence of these mighty economic and cultural powers?
