　　i'm the only child in my family， the apple of my parents' eyes. my mother and father take good care of my and give me a lot of support throughout my life.

　　my father is the manager of a company and my mother is a teacher. they are both well educated and do well in their jobs. they know that knowledge is power. father often communicates with foreign friends and is good at english. i can learn a lot from him， especially english. his oninion on education is as advanced as that of my mother's. they often give me advice on my studies but never interfere in them. they seldom force me to do what i don't like to. they permit me to have different opinions. if something is good for me， they will persuade me to do it as they want. many people of our age say that there is a generation gap between their parents and them. however， it doesn't exist between us.

　　my mother is a math teacher. she is very clever and good at teaching. she can work out a problem within 10 minutes which would cost me 2 hours. i envy and admire her. i want to be a math teacher like her.

　　i'm lucky to have such enlightened parents. i'm lucky to have been brought up in such a happy family.

　　We high school students do have some growing pains, but we can get rid of them correctly and wisely.

　　Some of us are worried about our physical imperfections, which makes us so upset. I have to mention that beauty is in the eye of beholders. The best way to overcome this problem is to ignore it. Some of us are concerned about not having enough friends and sometimes being ignored by others. In the case, don't blame the others, try to communicate well and make friends with all people. I know that academic pressure are crowding in on some of you, a school report card may sometimes depress you, but don't give up, stick to your dreams and work hard. No pains, no gains. As we grow up, we need more allowance from our parents which always seems insufficient. We should try to be frugal and release the economic pressure of our parents.

　　At last, I have to remind you all. Every problem has a lifespan, no problem is permanent. If we get down to solve them, we'll step closer to our dreams.

　　記得有一次，爸爸媽媽不在家。我見天色已晚，于是就做起飯來了。

　　Remember once, mom and dad are not at home. I saw it was getting late, so I started cooking.

　　可能是上天幫助我，冰箱里正好有我的拿手好戲：西紅柿、冬瓜和排骨。我先拿出一把菜刀和幾個西紅柿。我把西紅柿放在切板上，費了“九牛二虎之力”才把這幾個西紅柿切成大小不等的“西紅柿片”。我把這些西紅柿放在盤子里，擺成花形，再撒上糖，多像一個小孩子燦爛的笑臉呀！

　　May God help me, the refrigerator is my masterpiece: tomatoes, melon and pork ribs. First I took out a kitchen knife and some tomatoes. I put the tomato on the cutting board, had a "tremendous effort" to put a few tomatoes into tomato slices of different sizes "". I put these tomatoes on the plate, put them into flower shapes, and then sprinkle them with sugar, just like a little child's bright smile!

　　接下來是燉冬瓜排骨湯。我把冬瓜切成片，把排骨切成個，就放下鍋去燉了，大約過了30分鐘，湯燉好了。我嘗了一口中，真好喝！真是太棒了！

　　Followed by stewed winter melon and spareribs soup. I cut the melon into pieces and cut the spareribs into pieces. Then I put the pot down and simmered. It took about 30 minutes for the soup to simmer. I tasted it, it was really good! That was a great.

　　我把這兩道菜放在桌上，靜靜的等待他們回來。過了10分鐘，爸爸媽媽回家了，見了桌上的飯菜，連忙夸我是個好孩子。

　　I put the two dishes on the table and waited for them to come back. After 10 minutes, my father and mother went home, saw the food on the table and hastened to praise me as a good boy.
