　　除夕的中午，我見奶奶煮了好多飯，就好奇的.上前去詢問：為什么要煮這么多飯，我們一頓也吃不了呀?奶奶回答道：“今天要多煮一些，大年初一可不能再煮新鮮飯。因為土家族人很少吃魚，所以就要多煮飯，這也叫‘年年有余’吧。”

　　除夕的下午，爺爺和爸爸一起貼對聯，我也過去湊熱鬧。東看看，西瞧瞧。這時爸爸問我：“你知道我們為什么要貼對聯嗎?”我回答：“知道一點點，喜慶唄。”“也對吧，對聯是為了表達人們祈求新年福運的美好心愿。現在我們貼好了對聯，就不能往外扔東西了，連垃圾也不能扔，一直要到大年初二才可以扔東西。這樣就表示把財圈在家里了。”爸爸接著說。

　　除夕的傍晚，由家里的最長者帶領全家去“拜山祭祖”。在先輩的墳前點上紅燭和香，擺上祭品，以表對先輩的懷念。這也是對他們的尊敬。

　　孩子們更是喜歡過節，因為他們不僅可以吃到美味佳肴、穿上新衣服，還可以得到很多壓歲錢。晚輩得到壓歲錢就可以平平安安度過一歲。
