教學(xué)重難點：
掌握定語從句
（一）that和which在指物的情況下一般都可以互換, 但在下列情況下, 一般用that而不用which。（1）先行詞為all, everything, nothing, something, anything, little, much 等不定代詞時。I am sure she has something （that） you can borrow.
（2）先行詞被all, every, no, some, any, little, much等修飾時。
I’ve read all the books that are not mine.
（3）先行詞被序數(shù)詞或最高級修飾時。
This is the first book （that） he has read.
（4）先行詞被the only, the very, the same, the last修飾時。
This is the very book that belongs to him.
（5）先行詞既有人又有物時。
They talked about the things and persons that didn’t interest me.
（6）如果有兩個定語從句，其中一句的關(guān)系詞是that，另一句用which。
Let me show you the book that I borrowed from the library which was newly open to us.
用正確的關(guān)系代詞連接下列兩個句子：
（1）The scientist is very famous in the world. We met her yesterday.
The scientist / who /whom/ that we met yesterday is very famous in the world.（2）The dress is new. She is wearing it.
The dress that / which / she is wearing is new.
（3）He is the kind person. I have ever worked with him.
He is the kind person that/ who/ whom/ I have ever worked with.（4）This is the best film. I have ever seen this film.
This is the best film that / I have ever seen.（二）whose
I know the person. His company produces new machines.
I know the person whose company produces new machines.
She is the engineer. Her work is considered to be the best here.
She is the engineer whose work is considered to be the best here.
whose 在定語從句中作定語，表示引導(dǎo)詞與 whose 后的名詞為所屬關(guān)系。whose多指人，也可指物，指物時可與 of which互換使用。
This is the book whose cover is blue.
This is the book of which the cover is blue.
This is the person. Her story surprised everybody.
This is the person whose story surprised everybody.
The person was Ms King. Her designs were the best.
The person whose designs were the best was Ms King.
This teacher is liked by all the students. I work with her son. This teacher whose son I work with is liked by all the students.
The chair is being repaired now. The legs of the chair are broken.
The chair whose legs are broken is being repaired now.
whose從句可轉(zhuǎn)換為“of +關(guān)系代詞”型，如：
e.g. They live in a house whose door opens to the south.
They lived in a house, of which the door opens to the south.
They lived in a house, the door of which opens to the south.
【典型例題】一、用適當(dāng)?shù)脑~填空
1. All _____ can be done has been done.
答案：that that can be done部分是定語從句修飾all，先行詞為不定代詞只能用that引導(dǎo)。
2. Is that the only （first, very, best） book ______ he has ever read?
答案：that 先行詞被the only, the very, the same, the last, the best 修飾時，只能用that引導(dǎo)。
3. Is there anything ______I can do now?
答案：that 先行詞為不定代詞只能用that引導(dǎo)。
4. She is the only student who_____ （know） it.
答案：knows 先行詞為the only student，單數(shù)形式，所以用knows5. She is one of the students who____ （know） it.
答案：know 注意與上一題區(qū)別，這時的先行詞為students, 復(fù)數(shù)，所以用know6. The number of people who_____ （want） to go to America____ （be） rising.
答案：want, is who____ to go to America定語從句修飾people,先行詞為復(fù)數(shù)，所以填want; the number of意為“……的數(shù)目”，單數(shù)，所以這里用is。
