Teaching procedures:
Step 1:由關(guān)系代詞 that, which, who, whom 引導的限定性定與從句
Explanation: that, which, who, whom在從句中作主語或賓語
Fox example:
I saw the boy who lost his book..
Did you see the mail that/which came yesterday?
We found the old ship under the sea that we had talked about the year before.
They helped the girl whom they found in the street.
Explanation:以上為限定性定語從句，表明說話者所指的是哪些人或物。Who lost his book 表明的是丟書的那個男孩；that came yesterday 表明的是昨天收到的那個郵件；that we had talked about the year before 表明的是前年我們談?wù)撨^的那首輪船；who they found in the street表明的是他們在街上找到的那個女孩。其中1）2）句中的關(guān)系代詞在從句中做主語，3）4）句中的關(guān)系代詞在從句中作賓語。
Compare:
I saw the boy. He lost his book.
Did you see the mail? The mail came yesterday.
We found the old ship under the sea. We had talked about it the year before.
They helped the girl. They found her in the street.
要點：
注意上述例句中的who, whom, which和that所指代的人稱代詞或名詞。
在限定性定于從句中，that可以用來紙人或物，which 用來指帶事物；
在非正式場合也可以用that代替who描述人物；
在限定性定于從句中，如果whom, which或that 作賓語，可將其省略。

This is the room where Levis was given three injections as capital punishment.
Tell me the reason why/that he was killed.
Is there a reason he hasn’t turned up yet?
Explanation: 在限定性定語從句中，可用when表示時間，用where 表示地點，在reason 之后可用why或that 引導定語從句（關(guān)系副詞有時也可省略）。
Compare:
The machinery factory is going to close down. I worked in the factory 20 years ago.
I still remember that time. We were very poor at that time.
I will never forget those years. I was a worker in this car factory in those years.
This is the room. Levis was given three injections as capital punishment.
Tell me the reason. He was killed for that reason.
Is there a reason? He hasn’t turned up because of that.
