AS we all know, AIDS is killing a lot of adults and children in the world every year.

It is considered to be one of the most serious social problems today, let’s have a close look at it today.

Step 1. before reading

A. Show some pictures of AIDS patients and give some explanation.

Ask Ss to use some words describing the sufferers.( miserable, defenceless, helpless, pitiful….)

Question : Are you afraid of AIDS?

Are you willing to make friends with AIDS?

Step 5 Summary ( Teacher)

Thank you for everybody’s attention of AIDS. I think it very sinificant for us to talk about it here today, since tommorrow is the WORLD AIDS DAY. In this unit we learn so many things. We learn that AIDS is not as fritening as we thought it be. We learn that that how we protect ourselves from AIDS. We learn that AIDS patients are normal beings. And what is the most important I think, is that we should learn to treat AIDS patients properly. That’s all for today.

本課課型為閱讀課,是本單元第二課時。中心話題是愛滋病。在第一課時,學(xué)生已對愛滋病常識有初步的了解,為第二課時做了鋪墊。

我為本課共設(shè)計了5個步驟。第一步,讀前部分設(shè)計了預(yù)想,猜測課文可能會回答的問題。它旨在引導(dǎo)學(xué)生能夠根據(jù)主題來判斷文章可能闡述的內(nèi)容,幫助學(xué)生理解文章的描述必須圍繞主題進(jìn)行。第二步,介紹愛滋病是怎么一回事、愛滋病的傳播途徑以及目前世界上青少年患愛滋病的情況,讓學(xué)生對當(dāng)今世界愛滋病的現(xiàn)狀有一個更深入的了解。第三步,圍繞課文敘述的內(nèi)容提出6個問題,幫助學(xué)生在原有文章的基礎(chǔ)上,進(jìn)一步打開思路,以此培養(yǎng)學(xué)生分析主題、圍繞主題闡述問題的能力。第四步,設(shè)置了與當(dāng)前愛滋病局勢有所關(guān)聯(lián)的四個角色(政府官員、醫(yī)生、患者周圍的人以及患者本人),讓學(xué)生通過對角色的扮演,懂得設(shè)身處地地為他人著想,傾聽愛滋病人的心聲,并最終轉(zhuǎn)化為對愛滋病人的同情和關(guān)注,高度升華了本課的主題。最后,由教師進(jìn)行總結(jié),幫助學(xué)生完整地梳理課堂內(nèi)容,讓學(xué)生對課堂教學(xué)的內(nèi)容有一個回顧,并最終真正掌握理解課程內(nèi)容。教師以“Are you afraid of AIDS? Are you willing to make friends with AIDS patients?”兩個問題貫穿整個課堂教學(xué),讓學(xué)生通過課堂教學(xué),產(chǎn)生由課前畏懼到課后理解并同情的態(tài)度轉(zhuǎn)變,取得知識教育與道德教育的雙重成功。

對于課文的深度閱讀,設(shè)計了以下教學(xué)活動:第一,歸納段落主題。以快速閱讀的形式讓學(xué)生初步了解課文,并歸納每段的主要內(nèi)容;第二,進(jìn)一步疏通課文,捕捉細(xì)節(jié),解說文中的關(guān)鍵詞匯;第三,關(guān)注文章的語言。根據(jù)本單元的語法重點(diǎn)“虛擬語氣”,讓學(xué)生通過閱讀課文,找出含有虛擬語氣結(jié)構(gòu)的句子,使學(xué)生能更好地理解和學(xué)習(xí)語言。在學(xué)生了解了該語法點(diǎn)之后,通過“角色扮演”的活動,讓學(xué)生進(jìn)一步了解虛擬語氣的用法,并懂得如何在特定語境下應(yīng)用,以此達(dá)到課堂教學(xué)的關(guān)鍵目的。

對于課堂上安排的討論活動,既有個人的理解,也有小組討論、補(bǔ)充交流的環(huán)節(jié)。為了能夠扮演好角色,學(xué)生需要在小組交流中對所需要應(yīng)用的語法“虛擬語氣”進(jìn)行了解、加深印象,進(jìn)一步討論如何自我表達(dá)。教師只是組織了活動,課堂活動的真正主體應(yīng)是學(xué)生。活動的真正目的在于讓學(xué)生鍛煉英語表達(dá)能力,并加強(qiáng)對語法現(xiàn)象的理解。只有讓學(xué)生真正地融入到場景環(huán)境中去,學(xué)生才能夠真正地了解掌握本課的精要。
